Statement of Project

Bandana Bandit was initially pitched in Animation Art & Tech at Carnegie Mellon University by Luther Patenge. It's a simple story about a gorilla who's life is ripped out from under him due to the loss of his bandana. Our story begins when the Gorilla is out in the Savannah, sniffing out his lost treasure. Before confronting the one who stole his goods, he makes battle with two of her subjects. It isn't before long the bandit herself is subdued.

With the exception of Luther, this was our team's first attempt at animation using Autodesk's Maya software package. The primary goal for our team was to gain proficiency working with Maya to the extent that we could conceive an idea and actually carry it through to production. Our technical element was cloth, which was a critical piece to the narrative about a bandana. This element was crafted and animated using Maya 8.5's nCloth component.
