Bounce is an intimate look into the lives of an elderly couple. The piece functions as an animated photograph with no foreseeable ending. The aging woman is faced with the daunting task of bouncing her husband on her knee in order to keep him in a state of glee and bliss. When she pauses for a moment's rest her husband quickly grows impatient and the endless cycle resumes. The result is a dark and humorous look into a world of affection and over stimulation.

Tech Statement:

The motion for this project was created using a Vicon motion capture system. An actor is harnessed to a pulley system while sitting on the lap of another actor. A third person then pulls up and down on the harness in sync with the actors' motion. The characters and scenery were then put together in Maya 3D where dynamic simulations were added for cloth and hair. The final piece plays continuously through the day on an LCD picture frame.
