Typing of the Dead meets Awesomenauts.
In Typing of the Awesome, your typing launches waves of minions at your opponent. Type harder words to launch faster. Get three minions to their core to win the game.
The launch box. Each player has a box at the bottom of their screen containing three launch word slots. Each launch slot can either be recharging or contain a launch word. Each launch word can have zero or more complete letters.
When the player types a letter (A-Z), the game advances the completion of any launch word matching that letter. If no words match the typed letter, all launch words are set to reloading.
Whenever a launch word is completed, a minion is launched and the launch word that was completed is set to reloading. In cases where multiple launch words are completed at the same time, a small delay between the launches is introduced to keep the minions visually distinct.
The three word slots have different length words and take different amounts of time to fully load. The top (easy) word slot has short words and reloads slowly, the middle (medium) word slot has mid-length words and reloads at moderate speed, and the bottom (hard) word slot has long words and reloads quickly. Load times reduce as the round goes on, making fast typing increasingly important.
The lane selector indicates which lane the next minion will be launched in, and is controlled by the arrow keys.
My preferred source for world lists is SCOWL, which has the advantage of allowing you to decide how common the words you would like to use are. Note that the SCOWL Readme does require you to include several copyright notices with your game.
