Goal

Use the camera as part of the game play. I loved to play games like where's wally as a kid and I thought it would be nice to make that into a game. The idea is to use the camera to look around, aim the camera at a building and zoom in. Once the player zooms in, the player will know if they found wally, other characters, or if no one was at that building.

Method

I first set up the camera for 3D viewing. When I did CG the last semester, the camera has always been set up for us. I guess taking things for granted is a bad bad thing because I spent a long time figuring that out. I then loaded the textures and created the sky box. Next was to include the feature to allow the camera to move and zoom in. Then I added a randomness and gameplay mechanics.

Novelty

This is kind of like a modified version of Where's Wally. In the original game you look for Wally in a bunch of people. For my game however, you pick a guess which building he might be in and look into a building. It is probably more luck based than skill based.

Results

I feel like I probably can a picture with more buildings and add in more characters to increase the difficulty of the game. The camera controls could also have been more flexible and varied. I could have also added buildings that blocks the player's view and thus the player will have to move around to zoom into buildings.
