Helga's Game

Helga's Game, this is for all the guys and gals who grew up watching this wonderful cartoon(Hey Arnold!)...and who (like me) wanted to see a happy ending...well this game does it!

Goal

The player has to want to get the goal as fiercely as Helga wants to get Arnold's attention (including some nice gifts for the football's head)

Method

Since I didn't know exactly what to do I decided to make a game with my favorites character (Helga) pursuing her lifetime goal: Get Arnold as fast and tightly as she could, so (as she is just 9 years old), all what she does is to run looking for the shortest way to the football's head and in her way, trying to pick up things for the yellow-hair shrimp.

As life is short and expensive, the faster she gets there (and the more things she carries) more happy they both will be (love, time and gifts($), what else?) =)

Novelty

This game is the result of mixing the obsession of a nine-year-old girl, my lack of imagination and my memories of PackMan, which I used to play. So perhaps the novelty here is that technically you never lose (you always can get to Arnold with or without gifts), but the beauty of this is that at the end your score tells you how much happy Helga is, depending of your time and the amount of gifts (using 2 quantities to measure your performance)

Results

As this is my first game ever, I am kind of happy with it, the presentation at the beginning is fine, but in the game by itself it lacks more quality (like using Textures for the walls). Moreover, the theme is a bit non-traditional, the crazy girl looking for the short man =)

Ah! And something that counts a lot and is very dear for me is the rap song that you can hear while playing, it is very cool.
